Dystopian vampire teen fiction by Julie Kagawa, and second in the Blood of Eden series. New vampire Allison Sekemoto has just left her human friends in Eden, and is now on her way to rescue her Sire Kanin from Sarren. Along the way, she reunites with Jackel, and the two form a temporary alliance. Allison wants Kanin and Jackel wants the cure for rabidism.

The two end up back at New Covington. There, Allison once again encounters old friends.

This is a pretty good vampire tale, full of action, and betrayal. The cliffhanger is wonderful. It leaves you panting for the next in series. I will be waiting for it.
