Elizabeth Hewitt is one of those really good regency authors from the 80s, very able to tell a compelling relationship development story without getting distracted by sexual athletics by page 10. I was particularly impressed by her characterization of the heroine and the way she showed her gradual realization that even if it seems you can't have the right man, you probably shouldn't marry the wrong one. Highly recommended -- this is one in which the plot does not get in the way of the story.
