A fascinating look at one day during the United States' early involvement in Vietnam. Offers a peek into the minds and hearts of both the American advisors and the Vietnamese officers. Gives insight into the frequent monotony of this jungle war, the confusing mental battle of what we were really fighting for, and the sheer terror of the ever-present chance of ambush around the next bend in the path. Excellent and insightful fiction.
