The Mistletoe Promise is a feel-good book that is the equivalent to a "chick flick" movie. That isn't a complaint -- just a word picture to help you understand what you get.

The title suggests that it is a holiday book to read at Christmas. But while this is set around the holiday time of year, the story would be apt in any part of the calendar. It is a chance for love and redemption offered by and to two people who will benefit by the giving and receiving of the gift of attention. Good attention -- not 15 minutes of fame.

I shared this as an audio book with a friend on a long drive. It was a comfortable story that offered us a chance to talk about it along the way, but not so deep as to need to discuss philosophies and politics. It was a nice length (about 5 hours) to enjoy and smile through the trip.

The characters have depth but tend to be predictable. You will probably see most of the twists and turns coming. And the ending will not surprise you. But no matter what time of year it is you will enjoy this read and guessing what will happen next.

Give it a try.
