A prequel of sorts to "Frog Medicine", with Elmo Freem, Buford Snark, and Leon the Cat. Some of the same elements in the story, with a world that sort of transmogrifies before Elmo's eyes. The pictures aren't as good as his later books, more "broad brush" paintings. Looks like this was the first book that Mark Teague wrote and illustrated.
