Corey Douglas and the K-Team continue working cold cases for the Patterson, New Jersey, police. This case may give Pete Stanton pause because Corey goes to a posh hotel that costs $600/night (Corey is on the Patterson PD's expense account). This is a very complicated case starting with the deaths of Jimmy Dietrich, a long-time retired police officer, and Susan Avery. The cases go cold because there are no clues. Most people think that it was a murder-suicide.

This is not a case to listen to because there are so many characters, and the plotline is complex. I wish I had read the book instead of listening. Fred Berman has a great speaking voice, but sometimes the slower eye-reading pace is better for understanding the plot turns and twists.
