Kit Finn is on vacation in the Florida Keys when she literally bumps into a very charming, very handsome man. For once in her life, she wants to let loose and do something risky .. but fun...for a change. After a wonderful night together, she's pleased that he wants to see her again when she gets back to New York. It seems he is also from New York and is on vacation.

She arrives at his apartment on the agreed date at the agreed time. Only the man who lives there is someone she has never seen before. She's not sure if this was a prank or a joke .. but she doesn't appreciate it one little bit.

And then other things begin to happen. Someone burgles her apartment. A client is found dead in Kit's stairwell. And then the man she doesn't know is involved in a hit and run accident and killed.

And when the first man she met contacts her, she doesn't know who to trust. And why does someone seem to want her dead?

This was a good book over all... sluggish in places ... a lot predictable. Kit comes across as slightly naive and for being a 35-year-old woman, she took a lot of chances that she should have known better not to. This is not a fast-paced book, but there's enough action to keep reading.

This is not the first of Kate White's books that I have read ... and it won't be the last.
