Written in the mid-80's, some of the attitudes and technology is dated, but the plots and snappy repartee remain fresh. There's nothing wimpy about Beverly Sommer's heroines...
UNBELIEVABLE. NOT TO MENTION UTTERLY IMPOSSIBLE. One minute Lauren Hall is munching fries in a San Francisco McDonald's, then before you can say Richter scale, she is flung back---Sony Walkman, T-shirt, Levis and all---back to 1906. So begins the hilarious and heartwarming tale of a 1980's lady on her own in 1906 San Francisco. With a little imagination and a lot of help from a whiskey-loving reporter named Early Cruz, she realizes she's not alone...and her adventures have just begun.
