Book Review of All These Things I've Done

All These Things I've Done

I really enjoyed this first book in what I believe will be a fascinating series. Our protagonist, Anya, tries to do the right thing to protect her family at all times, despite the fact that she is the daughter of a criminal. She has a huge amount of responsibility taking care of her brother, sister and grandmother. She is tough, smart and likeable. She is living in a world where coffee and chocolate are illegal, water is rationed (imagine 90 second showers) and paper is so expensive that books are quite rare. She can't trust her extended family as they are all mafia. Her family ties have both good and bad consequences and she is always having to make hard decisions to look out for those she loves. I look forward to the 2nd book to see what comes next.
