Parents or aunties: If you're thinking of giving this as a gift to a girl, please be aware of two things. First, the book celebrates only physical adventures - not being brave in daily life, such as taking a stand against others who are bullying someone. To me, that rates highly as "gutsy." Second, the book includes several extremely dangerous escapades that I would never recommend as exemplary to a young girl.

I was disappointed in the book for these reasons and do not recommend it for the average girl.
