Phelan Romney doesn't believe his half-brother Valerian murdered their father. That is why he is helping him escape by hiding in the country and having Valerian pose as his "wife" Valerie. But they are running into problems. Valerian has fallen in love with bluestocking Sophie de Quincy but dressed as a woman he can't act on his feelings. Phelan yearns for Juliette MacGowan who is masquerading as a boy and trying to escape her past. On top of that, the brothers must allude the Bow Street Runners or be tried for murder.
For some reason it took me a long time to pick this book up. I wish I had read it sooner. This is a fun historical romance where no one is who they say they are and everyone has secrets. We get two romances in this book and lots of entertainment. I highly recommend this story. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
