I usually enjoy Lewis Black's stand-up comedy performances on HBO. While I disagree with his politics, I share his cynical views on what goes on in Washington, and in most of what passes for entertainment and popular culture today.
This is a 4 hour rant on the holiday season, and, having spent a lot of my life living alone, I share many of his views on the over-commercialization of Christmas and the sugary pap that masquerades as family values during the holiday season. However, after listening to the first cd and a few tracks of the second, I had reached my negativity overload threshold.
I recall having the same experience with another of his audio books. What can be entertaining for an hour in my recliner in front of the TV, doesn't work nearly as well while driving in traffic. I won't buy any more of his cd's.
