I could not put this book down! The characters' voices are smart and funny and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Peter is a modest hero, slowly learning magic from his Inspector while renegotiating boundary rights between river spirits and tracking down a murderer. Vivid descriptions of London and intriguing secondary characters rounded out a great story with lots of twists and turns.
