I always enjoy Higgins' writing and incredibly realistic characters. My trouble with this book was the changing point of view with each chapter. I kept getting jerked out of the narrative to think about who was telling it instead of being lost in the story. It still made me cry and laugh out loud! There is a lot going on here - unplanned pregnancy, single parenthood, unexpected losses, aging issues and bullying. There is a tiny bit of romance, but this is not a romance novel.
