Lady Miranda escapes her nasty step-brother's inheritence grabbing plans and lands, injured, at the home of a handsome earl and his family. Miranda hides her identity as she believes the earl knows her brother. She enjoys their family life and they enjoy her, but the earl suspects her of being a swindler because her assumed name is the same as a woman who cheated his friend of a large sum of money. The couple can't resist their attraction for each other for long, though.
