David Weber continues to impress me. He has developed a whole multiverse in which his characters live, function, plot, and evolve. I can only imagine the flow charts he maintains in order to keep everything straight. He does the Harrington novels in conjunction to other books in other series. As I said, impressive.
This book is another worthy episode in his Honor Harrington/Star Empire saga. This is not (nor is it advertised as) a stand-alone volume. In order to understand it, one must read the preceding books in the series. Yes, it plods along with very little action, just as in real life. It follows the minutia of daily life which happens as we're doing other things.
