Giant of Mesabi
Alanna Powell, on break from college, returns home to her Minnesota mining town for the summer. There she meets back up with her charming boyfriend Kurt and his dark, arrogant and ruthless, brother Rolt (CEO of mining company). Alanna seeks to continue her relationship with Kurt, but Rolt has other ideas. He announces to Kurt that he plans to pursue Alanna -and Rolt always gets what he wants. Alanna is disgusted and appalled at the very idea, but at the same time can't help resisting his stolen kisses and embraces. Avoiding Rolt at all costs and turning into an ice princess when he's around, is her only option. Unfortunately, Alanna finds out that her family is in financial trouble and Rolt is the only one who can help. He offers her a job as his executive assistant -with no strings attached. Alanna accepts, not only for her family, but for the chance to beat Rolt at his own game and put him in his place -exactly where he belongs, but is it out of her life or in his arms?

The Thawing of Mara:
Mara is a bitter young women living in the Pennsylvania countryside with her paraplegic father. She blames him for all the misery in her life. Adam (she refers to him by his first name) walked out on Mara and her mother when Mara was fifteen years old. Mara, alone, cared for her mother up until her death from cancer several years ago. She has never forgiven Adam for what he has done to the family and takes every opportunity to tell him so. Mara's admits that her decision to take in her father, after his crippling car accident, is based soley on the fact that he contributed to her birth and nothing more. Even though she takes care of him, their relationship is frosty at best.

Mara's property contains a small cottage at one end and she decides to rent it as another source of income. Super handsome and sexy CEO Sinclair Buchanan becomes the new tenant. Mara immediately dislikes him when he shows up to his new *love nest* with his latest bimbo. Much to her dismay, Adam and Sin become fast friends. Mara trys her best to avoid the handsome devil at all costs, especially since his kisses melt her like butter. She fights Sin at every turn, hoping (well maybe not) that he'll back down and give her some peace. Adam has other ideas and makes himself scarce at every opportunity while forcing Mara into Sin's company as much as possible. But how much coldness can Sin take before he gives up? And will Mara ever be able to forgive her father?
