After several years Nicola Falcourt is returning to Yorkshire, the place where she fell in love withand losther soulmate. Her coach is waylaid by a highwayman who steals a kiss and rekindles old memories.
Nicola has only hate for her brother-in-law, Richard Montford, Earl of Exmoor, the man she holds responsible for her beloveds death. She has come to Yorkshire only out of concern for her sister, who is soon to give birth.
However, once there she cannot forget the daring highwayman and is secretly pleased to learn that he is harassing Richard. But when the bold masked outlaw sneaks through her window and pulls her into his arms, she is filled with longing and a desire for more.
Slowly drawn into the bandits world when he asks her to heal a friend, Nicola is unwittingly plunged into an ancient and tangled plot where greed, deception and betrayal have each played their hand. Now it is up to her to find a way to erase the dark deeds of the past and place her trust in a dangerous outlaw, gambling that he will not steal her heart.
Candace Camps action-packed, sensual love story certainly stirs the senses and emotions. With a strong plotline and well-drawn characters, she creates a true keeper. Readers will admire the bold outlaw and the pro-active Nicola, even though an astute reader might guess at the secret he is trying to hide.
