Of all the garden books on my shelf, this has been the most used in the past two years. The info on each herb included is easy to find when needed and practical. I'm learning not only when and how to plant, but what parts are edible and when to harvest. I've followed the book's simple directions for making a hair rinse with spearmint and vinegar that I love - my hair is so much softer - that I'm using it weekly now. There are guidelines for making herbal vinegars, bread, teas, seasonings, jellies, infusions & tinctures, salad dressings, insect repellents and more. This is the book that I've chosen to give to several friends for Christmas this year. Highly recommend it for anyone interested in growing herbs or learning how to use them. As harvest winds down this year, I can't wait to have the time to try some of the other recipes using the herbs I've dried and frozen.
