As a recovering crack cocaine and alcoholic myself this book was very inspiring to me. This is how the true struggle of an addict on the road to recovery is...even if the book is made up a little bit here & there, who cares, it's a good book. I think with how he wrote this book, and how closely it resembles the real life struggles of an addict that he is also a recovering addict, you can't make this stuff up if you truly don't know what the road to recovery is like first hand. It is so much more than "will power." There is no such thing as will-power for the addict's brain (any drug counselor and addict will tell you that). It made me realize there are others out there with the same struggles. Our lives may be vastly different but the recovery process is the same for most addicts. We hear the same evil voices in our heads telling us "It's ok, do some more drugs, have another drink." "One more won't hurt." "It's fun." "You can always stop." "You need me." This book is a must read.
