I read this for this month's "Spring" theme in my online book club, The Reading Cove. While I felt it was a very slow build (even though it's a short 176 pages of story), the last 50 pages made it worthwhile for me. The plot picked up and things FINALLY started happening! :-)

Dimitry Sanin's whimsical naïvety caused him to make choices that dramatically altered the trajectory of his life. T + 30 years and the wounds and regrets resurface for healing.

This is a translation, and I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style. Like many classics, ten words are used when five would do. But overall, SPRING TORRENTS was a good look at human lamentations, capriciousness, fragilities...and the suchness of life.
