This is a quick read and Maxwell is overly fond of carriage sex scenes (They are in several of her books with very little variations).

I was looking forward to this book because Maxwell really builds up Gillian's character in the other books. I wanted her to be with Andres instead of Brian but since the book is called "The Earl Claim His Wife" you don't have to be a genius to know who Gillian picks in the end.

The book contains several annoying plot features like characters assuming wrongly about the others and doing stupid things because of those assumptions. I thought Brian, being a diplomat and a military man would be less teenage melodramatic girl about things. Ironically I started to like him in the beginning and I wanted Gillian to forgive him even though it was too quick. But towards the end of the book I wanted her to leave him because he was such a jerk.

Overall it was an okay book. I ended up not being too impressed with Gillian and Brian.
