Madeline doesn't want to look for her evil stepfather, but her mysterious author-boss insists and she needs the job. Her neighbor in New Orleans provides some relief when she asks Madeline to house sit and look after an expected guest. She agrees, anticipating an elderly friend, but to her amazement an unusual and sensual man appears. Zayne, a minstrel from the land of Kaf, home of the djinn, has followed divine instructions and come to Earth to find his mate in the hope that she can restore his peace, and that of his homeland, because the two are tied together.
