I read the first one (Lord of the deep) and though I didn't hate it I didn't liked it either. I already had all 4 books in the series so I figured why not read them all, they can't be worse then the first one... oh boy was I wrong!
Things went down hill from the second chapter. NONE of the characters had redeeming qualities. Gideon was behaving like teen horny half-wit, his woman was having 'opposite day'... permanently, if someone said don't do this she was sure to do exactly that. So many unexplained pop-in characters/entities were meddling in their story it was like throwing together a bag of rice and sand and then picking though it. The plot dragged and I could tell 5 pages beforehand what will happen. By 1/3 of the book I skipped whole sections and didn't loose the story line. I did finished it just to see the twist at the end. (NO spoilers) I will not say anything beyond the fact that had Gideon behaved as he was presented: the powerful immortal with 'eons' of collected knowledge and experience the book would have ended in chapter 3.
My rating: As romance goes 1 star. As erotica goes 0 stars (S** for profit, revenge, or debt is no erotica. Hero F** everything on 2 legs and ... had it on with trees?!) Story line is all over the place so 0 stars
I'm not a sucker for punishment so I'm trading the other 2 books unread....
