In 1 Corinthians 13, the Apostle Paul offers God's view of love. At the heart of it is the word agape, found over and over again in the chapter. Agape love sums up who God is and what He has done for us. God wants us to experience agape love.
Jesus set an example of totally giving himself in love, with no thought of receiving anything in return. We, as Christians, are called by God to reflect that love to our spouses, our families, and our world. The more we reflect love and give it away to others, the more we will experience love in our own lives.
This study of 1 Corinthians 13 will investigate the power and priority of love over all other virtues, and will examine the two positive characteristics of love that dominate the chapter. This study will also explore love's power over envy, pride, selfishness, anger, and resentment, as it works through the chapter word by word. If you want to experience God's love in your life, your family, and your church, you will find the path to exploring what God's Word has to say about love in this book.
