I reread the whole of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House series almost every year - it is one of my favorite children's book series. This volume is about Laura's teenage years - her friends and enemies, meeting her future husband Almanzo, ending with her getting hired to be a teacher in a tiny community twenty miles away from home.
The series was also my daughter's favorite in her childhood, and whenever American history was discussed, she would ask "How old was Laura then?"
