For readers of naval fiction, you should know there is more action packed into this book than is usual. All of which is interesting. Captain Delancey is all over the place, from Africa's Cape of Good Hope to Borneo.
As for the latter, the battle which occurred in Borneo reminded me of one of George Fraser's books---"Flashman's Lady"---in which almost the same scenario took place. Fraser's book was copyrighted in 1977, while Parkinson's book was a year later. Coincidence? Who knows?
