Mississippi cotton country in 1945 seems peacefulat least until turmoil comes causing good and evil to go to war. Missy and Bobby Parker are white children from a well-to-do family and Junior Washington, a black friend, are caught in the epicenter of the battle.

Afterwards, Missy begins a mission that fuels the fires of aggression in the evil left in the area. The war destroys the lives of those around Missy, affecting her family and the community. The lives of both the Washington and the Parker families are now bound by spiritual warfare.

As Missy struggles to find the strength to endure the onslaught she must somehow gain the help of supernatural guardians and the love of both families. Will Missy be able to find the truth in the plot against heror will she die trying?
