Finally, a new Stephanie Laurens book that I can get behind and say I really enjoyed reading. This is the first of a new series staring Lady Osbaldestone, the Grand Dame of almost all the earlier Cynster books. She's a fantastic lady and provided an enjoyable read. This was a sweet romance with no heavy, life shattering mystery. Probably not for every Laurens reader, but it was a nice change over the Christmas holiday. I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to more in this series. I gave this 4 stars! I read this book on my Kindle.

That said, this book has not totally redeemed SL in my eyes right now. I've been extremely disappointed in her last several books...too heavy...unlikable characters...too much detail that carries on through the entire series. This is a pattern she started when she wrote the Black Cobra series and unless she stops doing this and goes back to her old writing style, I'm outta here!
