Magellan's Hats (Eureeka's Castle) (Golden Board Book, No 6112)

ISBN 0307061124 - With Eureeka's Castle off the air, it's possible that kids aren't going to know who Magellan is (a sad thought!), and the fact that the video available is almost all on the dying medium of videotape does not bode well for him. That might drive the price of all Eureeka-bilia up in time, but for now... well, you can still afford them!

Magellan has quite a collection of hats to play make-believe with and he changes hats often. On each page, he wears a different hat and plays a different role, from a sailor to a king who says it's time for a party. Party hats, of course, required.

Eureeka, Magellan and the gang are easily my favorite among my son's childhood shows. It's possible that your child, without the TV-show-connection won't find them quite as cool as I do, but I think the book is cute. The illustrations are bright and cheerful, as is Magellan, the ever-smiling dragon. Board book pages make for easy handling.
