Can't believe I am writing this, but this is the best book I have read this year. Howie Mandel is hilarious! And nuts! Several passages has me laughing out loud til I was crying. His writing is razor-sharp, extremely honest and so surprisingly full of depth.

And because some of this topics are so serious (his lifelong struggles with OCD and ADHD, his heart-surgeries, his own frustrations at his inability to censor himself, and others) it's a wonder he found a way to inject humor into his tales. But he did.

I also enjoyed learning that his whole career came about because he always had the nerve to take a chance whenever an opportunity came his way. He didn't set out to become a comedian, actor or host--he just said "sure, why not" each time life presented something, and it all worked out--much to even his surprise. There's a lesson in there for all of us, about taking those leaps of faith. I come away from this a much bigger fan of his than before I read this book. And I hope he writes another.

***** Five stars!
