This was a new author for me. I loved the history of frontier Kentucke (Daniel Boone) about the time of the American Revolutionary War. You could feel the tension between the settlers and Indians, and I've always sympathized with the Indians. You could tell Laura did a lot of research before writing this book. For me there were a few things left dangling. I would have liked to see what happened with her brother, and also I was left wondering about her Pa. Overall, a satisfying read. Looking forward to reading her next book.
