Japanese Proverbs and Sayings

This is a delightful way to learn more about Japanese culture. The quotes and the surrounding artwork added much to the beauty of this book. I realized the Japanese are cautioned to sit back, enjoy life, and not rush things. They see no time limit on learning new things. Be open to life's opportunities. Strive for perfection, but don't obsess about being perfect. Children grow up to be what they are taught. This is a lovely book with great wisdom.

The proverb that meant the most to me was, "Destroy a country, but its mountains and rivers remain." Even in chaos, there is nature -- staying strong.

One observation: If there is a future edition, I suggest changing the font for the introduction to something more readable. I had difficulty reading it because of the complex font. Fortunately, the rest of the book was very readable.
