Book Review of A Proud Taste for Scarlet and Miniver

A Proud Taste for Scarlet and Miniver
reviewed on + 3 more book reviews

It's basically a review of Eleanor of Aquitaine's life and times, from the standpoint of Eleanor and some peers (an abbot, a knight, her mother-in-law) being in Heaven after each spending some time in Purgatory, waiting for her husband (King Henry) to arrive after his time in Purgatory.
Very little religious content in spite of the setting, but an interesting summary of the politics, marriages, fighting, Crusades, etc. going on at that time. Written for a younger audience (middle school?) but an enjoyable light read for adults as well.
