Several years back, I tackled this series of books and found that they annoyed me immensely, so I put them aside.

Recently, I began reading them again, and found that, either I have changed, or the series has evolved, because I'm hooked now.

The characters seem to have matured and mellowed out - or, maybe, I have. Whatever, I'm glad to have rediscovered them, and find this particular novel to be excellent.
