For most part I enjoyed this book. It was a mix of the horrors of war and fantasy. It focused around Robert Jones, a man that finds his way into the trenches of war. We go through the hell that he and his comrades go through. Mixed in with that are these fantastical creatures that appear every now and then. We also get flashbacks into his past when these creatures first appeared. Very interesting way in which the elements are mixed in together.
I really enjoyed the writing. Remic has a way of writing that just makes you feel the need to stay with it. There was a point when I was a bit bored but carried on. I also got confused with what is what on the fantasy creatures but it all worked out in the end. Recommended reading.
