Book Review of Red Moon and Black Mountain (House of Kendreth, Bk 1)

Red Moon and Black Mountain (House of Kendreth, Bk 1)

This is one of the great fantasy novels. Long out-of-print, it deserves to be better known. I would compare it both to The Lord of the Rings and to The Chronicles of Narnia. As you read it, remember that it was written before fantasy was a genre, and some concepts you might think borrowed, because you've seen them in other works, were original at the time. I love the story. It is a book that goes beyond mere plot. Its sense of wonder, the characterization of the three children, the battle scenes; all of it is great.
