Awsome! Mac has changed quite a bit from the 1st book, Darkfever. But there are still little glimmers of Mac 1.0 (as she calls her "past" self) that show up from time to time. Does she make the right choices all the time? no. But she is a human facing a very difficult path and is trying to navigate it in the best way she knows how, with the knowledge that she is given ~ which is not much and only given in small spurts. Also, I am a big fan of Jericho Barrons ~ there is just something about him.

You must start this series from the beginning, none of these books can be read as stand alones, if not you will be lost and thoroughly frustrated. These books get darker as the series goes along, so if you are looking for lighthearted I wouldn't attempt them and if you do not like cliffhangers I'd recommened waiting until after the 5th & final one has been released in Jan 2011. Also, these are not romances, they are urban fantasy with some romance elements thrown in. I've also been told by another avid fan of the series that it would probably be a good idea to read Moning's Highlander series (which is more paranormal romance) before starting this one because there are things about the Fae world explained in that series that will be of help in the Fever series.
