I consider this one a classic -- one of the strongest romances I've ever read. When it was first published many fans couldn't get past the cold brutality of the first chapter and the moral issues it raised. This is not a "sweet" romance and it's not perhaps for the faint of heart, but there's a point to the unpleasantness and it is well worth your time. One of Balogh's best.
