Spelling Power: Level B Focus on Spelling Meaning and Writing

We do not guess at what is the best way to teach spelling... we know! Spelling Power is based on solid, proven research into what makes the most effective spelling program. Spelling Power is thorough, yet it takes just 15 minutes per day for your students to become strong spellers for life. We've got the research to prove it.
Just select the student book that matches your students' grade level, and Spelling Power allows them to move at their own pace. Three versions of the same word list for each lesson are provided: basic spelling, challenge, and super challenge. Students begin with the basic spelling list and advance to more complex forms of the same words as they become ready. The more advanced word lists also come with more challenging activities.

Without writing there would be no spelling. Lessons consist of separate sections that focus on the related activities of spelling, meaning, and writing, offering multiple exposure for each word. Your students cement their mastery of spelling words when they practice using them in context and in everyday writing.

In levels C-H, those who are ready can tackle the challenge and super challenge word lists in addition to the basic spelling list. Spelling skills are reinforced along the way, as students complete review activities after every five lessons. Open-ended and scaffolded writing activities reinforce word meaning and allow students to use spelling words to create original stories. Softcover, 176 pages. Curriculum Associates.

This book is approximately 2nd to 3rd grade level.
