Book Review of This Is the Way the World Ends

This Is the Way the World Ends

Helpful Score: 1

While the book starts off with a decent character and story, it quickly turns fanciful as people turn out to be robots, animals talk, etc, etc etc, it almost becomes sort of Alice in Wonderland-ish.

The entire thing goes so far off the deep end and I lost interest and started skimming it. Somehow I finished it... but I wish I hadn't. A complete waste of time and very annoying story... I know this story was supposed to be an allegory of soceity and all the crazy stuff an illusion for events/attitudes of people... but honestly I hated dumb stuff like that as an English major in college and now for sure don't want to waste my time with someone's nonsensical rantings. If the author wanted to write a book about society just write it and be straight forward.. don't veil it in a PA story.

If you're seeking a solid PA book like Warday, The Road, Lucifer's Hammer, etc... stay away--far away.
