After surviving a car accident, strangely enough, her fiance's assurance that he'd have married her even if she'd gone blind, only increased Anna's prewedding doubts. So, confused and needing to sort out her feelings, she fled to her island cottage in Scotland.

But her childhood memgmories of St. Morag's Island in summer were much different than the reality of winter-bleak and deserted. The only other resident, Paul Peralta, a dark mysterious Gypsie of a man, both disturbed and excited Anna.
