This book tells of growing up on a farm sometime in the early 1900s. Spring is sloppy with the melting slop of winter thawing behind the barn. Summer is never ending work, unless you're young enough to go to town with pa and get penny candy. Fall is going to the lake but it is also the slaughter. Winter is spent around the fire with family. Very descriptive. Good perspective.
