This is a dog-lovers bonanza; a truck with 70 adoptable dogs from southern states turns up with a murdered driver on a road in New Jersey. Of course, it is in a location near the Tara Foundation (that Andy and Willy run). The wrinkle is that Laurie, highly capable ex-cop and also Andy's wife, used to be the accused killer's main squeeze. Dave Kramer is tall, good-looking and ex-Marine. Needless to say, Andy already hates his client.

All the usual suspects are here for the action: Laurie, Hike, Sam, Edna, Marcus, Willie, Pete, Vince, Andy, and the Bubalah Brigade. Rosenfelt's books are so much fun that I just lie back and watch. I make absolutely no effort to find the culprit first, I just want to be in on the humor and hijinks.
