This book was very enjoyable. I thought the dog was humorous in a knee-slapping kind of way, and I'm sure I'll be making references to this book down the road. The three chapters I liked the most were when his first owner takes him hunting, the chapter on dog/human communications, and finally the chapter in which he talks about his favorite toys and balls. Although it was a novel of fiction, I'd like to think I got a pretty good perspective on what my dog sometimes thinks about. :)
