The most interesting aspect of this book is Brown's coverage of numerous minor 'players' and their actions across four years of war. While some of the events Brown describes are covered in more detail in other books on a specific event, his accounts are a good introduction to those not interested in reading a complete book on one event.
However, even through I've read hundreds of books on the war, I found new and interesting information in this volume.
