This book is definitely entertaining! I found myself drawn in right away, because the author does a great job of showing us how tough Jax is in the first few pages, and how she gives Ian a real thrashing. (Ian compares Jax to Lara Croft.) Ian is hot, but also has a very tender side towards his "mate" Jax that I liked even more.
The story does loose a bit of steam about 2/3 of the way through. I began to get a little annoyed with the number of chances that Ian and Jax gave up to capture the rogue vampire Drace, just letting him walk away. The vampires seemed to go back and forth a bit too much between being very powerful, then caught off-guard & weak.
There was a nice blend of action/suspense along with the "steam", and the steamy scenes fit in well with the rest of the book, instead of just popping out of nowhere. I would probably try another one by this author.
