I have to respectfully disagree with the idea that you can fully enjoy this book if you haven't read the others in the series. While the mystery story line makes sense on its own, there are multiple siblings and their romantic interests that I think I would really care about if I had read the other books first. Since this was my first read, I mostly ended up feeling confused about who was who. I did enjoy the characters enough to seek out the other books, but my honest recommendation is to begin at the beginning.
