I enjoy the Lt. Eve Dallas series and that it's set in the future, Eve isn't afraid to kick ass and go around the law to get her man, and that she relentlessly hunts her killer until she gets him. In this particular book, J.D. Robb doesn't go too far into Eve's past history as a child, which I'm happy about. After reading it over and over and over again in each book, it gets rather old. I love the character development and this story really delved into the mental illness of the killer, who really is a ruthless, sick man. As usual, there were a couple of love scenes between Eve and her husband Roarke, which I could honestly do without (if I wanted to read romance, I'd read a romance novel, you know?), but I honestly just skim over those paragraphs until the story moves on. This is another good J.D. Robb book. Looking forward to the next one!
