Lauren Kate had an excellent concept for a novel, but unfortunately, poor execution. The book was really interesting and quite promising in the beginning but the romance, and quite honestly the characters, were poorly developed. When we finally find out the truth about Daniel, it comes off as sort of corny. Fallen had the potential to be a great book but I found that it was lacking in these aspects. That's not to say it was a bad book, but I won't exactly be rushing to read the second one.
